Thiago, What knives are available to you? I think Tramotina is made in Brazil, they make good knives and awesome machetes. I only have 2 or 3 knives that have a full height hollow myself, and those are small knives, >3".

Cowan, I was thinking for the bevels a conical sanding drum than matched the diameter of the holes/rings, and same for the insides, but just a regular straight sided sanding drum. Just spitballing, as I haven't done anything like this before. Maybe ask if you haven't already on one of our message groups on Facebook, Instagram, or Discord, there are a bunch of knifemakers there that

Thiago, I think you are right about the hidden convex grind. Kylie Harris, when he made knives, used to make a thin convex that thicked about 5-10 mm or 0.5" from the edge to give the knife both cutting performance and strength. He can explain it better than I can. I think if you can find one, you might like a full-height hollow grind.

Ok, maybe just friend request me on Discord, for some reason I can't search people and find their user id to send the friend request. It really shouldn't be this difficult. Could you try and send me friend request at jasonstone20#7866 . Discord is case-sensitive, and you need the four-digit user id number (#0000)

Can you forum members that are having issues connecting to the Discord server DM me your Discord user names, that way I can add you myself since the Discord links are time sensitive and don't work after an hour or so.

Yes, I think Cliff put me in touch with him a few years ago because he had a specific question about something and I had done some research on the topic. I had been watching his sharpening videos before that. That is how I get a super sharp edge, I use very, very light passes and usually a very high angle edge leading pass, and I get great results.

We still are working on getting the old forum site up and running. I have been busy with other stuff and also sick with whatever cold is going around.
