So after a few months of trying, I was able to get my sharpening touch back for getting a high sharpness edge. One thing I learned was that for achieving a high sharpness was to use a light touch during the edge refinement stage of sharpening and the burr removal (if burr sharpening) or a micro-bevel (if either burr sharpening or no-burr sharpening). This is ususally the last stage of sharpeninby jasonstone20 - General Sharpening

Millscale, Greetings and welcome to the forum! I have a few files, a well used Grobet that I bought new, a very nice Mercer two sided very coarse and coarse file, and a big 12" mill bastard that is just labeled "China'. I bought all three from the same local hardware store. I use them for sharpening my machetes and hatchets.by jasonstone20 - Product Review/Feedback
Ryan, I bought a Lightning Elite a few years ago, just to have as part of my collection. It is a Chinese copy of the Microtech OTF designs I think. I got a Western/American style Tanto, as I find it very nice for EDC. I plan on getting some nicer ones as soon as I have the money. I really like automatics, it is a shame they were basically outlawed decades ago, and it is awesome they are becomby jasonstone20 - General

I have been wanting to get some new field attire, and I think that the old-school US M81 Woodland is best for my environment, even though the others would also work. These are the camo's I looked at: US M81 Woodland versus PL Woodlandby jasonstone20 - Prepping/Survival/Bushcraft

Ryan, Exactly. I got in the habit of just posting the video link a few years ago, and when I am tired or unfocused I forget to add things that will start, contribute or just add something to start a conversation. I am planning on going back and editing the post so it will be more conversation provoking, like I should have done the first time. Thank you again for the reminder.by jasonstone20 - Video Reviews

Ryan, Another thing I just remembered was that I wanted this section of the forum to be just were someone could through up a video of a review, but I don't know if that was a good idea, for the reasons previously mentioned.by jasonstone20 - Video Reviews
Ryan, It was something I was doing when Cliff took his initial hiatus from the original forum, no one asked me to do it and I don't know if it was needed. I was just trying to keep the original forum going like it was when Cliff was participating regularly, but I definitely couldn't fill his shoes, the guy was a dynamo when it came to work.by jasonstone20 - Video Reviews
Ryan, This is a spot were Cliff and I disagreed about. Not because he wasn't right and it isn't better to post a summary, it obviously is. I just am not good at doing summaries and don't always have the mental energy and focus, but also sometimes, like in this case, I felt the video spoke for itself. Kyley, Yeah, cooking with EDC knives also allows you to see how well they cut, and how well the ergo's are on the knife. A surprise EDC knife that performed well in the kitchen was the Benchmade Tanto Griptillian.by jasonstone20 - General
Kyley, QuoteBut very little real world ways to use or enjoy them This is also an issue I am having, I have ton of knives, carry about five or more knives on me, but the only thing I use them for is cutting the tape when I open a package, a chore that can be done with a key or a ball point pen.by jasonstone20 - General
