Real Steel Luna Lite

Was looking for a lightweight blade I could have on me often regardless
what am I wearing and that I wont be sorry to use for some of the stuff
I may not want to use expensive custom especially opening packages
as your fine edge and bevels quickly get some sticky glue from tape
onto them that cannot be rinsed off easily by water and detergent..

I must say I am quite happy with this design, knife could be a bit bigger
tho I ve found it to work very well for all utility and light tasks so far..

I especially like the jimping on the bottom side at the front its excellent for indexing
and provides traction when closing the slipjoint so the spring action wont turn or slip
the knife in your hand so knife can be closed very safely in a very controlled way.
Also thanks to the G10 - traction is nice tho surface isnt too rough at all.

I am quite impressed how neat machining and cleanly finished surfaces
I ve seen when I disassembled it. For its budget price it is really respectable.

I can see why you like the jimping, well positioned and its not too deep and doesnt look aggressive.

Is the pocket clip bothering you during use?
How do you like the spring tension on the slipjoint?

tks for the review! >grinning smiley<

I wouldnt call it a review but yea so far I am impressed positively.

Clip is so thin like on a pen and well rounded, very slim and in most tasks
I dont even know its there. Probably 1st clip on a folder I wont remove.

Spring is properly tense, but not too much - this is hard to evaluate for me
as I never used slipjoints much before and I guess everyone may prefer
different spring..

Good to know, I generally take them down as well, this one is really thin and would do the trick for me as well probably.

Been looking past few days for knives with similar class steel and on Ali and there is one called "petrified fish - beluga"

Its got a handle that's different on the underside but blade profile looks similar and the most important difference would be that its a liner lock.

I feel like the Real Steel slipjoints are a homerun in Germany, been seeing them from many sellers as they have strict knife locking - laws over there.

This one is in D2 you probably assumed its sandvik 14c28n which I would prefer but one can never have it all in a cheap blade. No complains I have sharpened the factory edge on venevs. So far holds edge just fine.
Thickness behind the edge is from 0.35 to 0.45mm at 30 to 35deg inclusive.

I just find this design really well thought regardless what the steel was used, practicality is the main factor to me here.

sry, mixed that up with another Real Steel model...

~.4mm bte at those angles is very respectable for production knife!

+1 what you said about practicality. Its doing a good job for what you use it. I do as well use a dedicated knife for opening packages or cutting them down. To lazy to remove glue from blade after every use if I need it for something else (food, high sharpness cuts, etc.)
